Funny how things turn out and progress. There was once a time when we only did curtains, blinds and pillows. Then slowly but surely we started doing upholstery and re-upholstery…now we are mostly known for the upholstery side of our business. But fear not, we have never lost our passion for what gave us our beginnings, so we wanted to remind you.

Most of you already know our next client, Stacy Mclennan. You can see her almost weekly on Cityline here in Toronto, but I (Terry) have known Stacy for a very, very long time. We met over 10 years ago when she won the first ever Home Decor Competition show ‘HGTV’s Designer Superstar Challenge’. This was also the very first television appearance that sparked MY illustrious television career. The show featured a number of ‘Home Decor’ hopefuls that week by week, were whittled down to just one remaining contestant.

That one remaining contestant won the chance to have their own show on HGTV. That one remaining contestant was Stacy McLennan.

For their final challenge, the winner (Stacy) was given an opportunity to host their own mock episode of a show that they wrote and designed themselves. Enter Terry. I was hired on to do all the sewing for this last episode. It was the day after my birthday celebration so of course the tiny sewing room (normally the Babies room) REEKED of Vodka, Cigarettes and general hangover smells. Very sexy.

Since then, Stacy has continued on with her own ever expanding design firm Stacy McLennan Interiors and we have been helping her out with many, MANY of her fabricy projects over the years.

Here are some pictures of the most recent project we worked on for Stacy and her team (HEY GURLS!!)

Roman Blinds

On the landing that leads upstairs are these great Roman Blinds. We have made literally THOUSANDS of these things so have become quite the experts.

These Romans have a little bit of ‘Swag’ to them…and no, not the way Justin Bieber has ‘Swag’. Meaning that they are a little more relaxed than the typical Roman Blind and have a gentle droop in the centre.
